Do I need to Book for Daycare?
Yes please! A minimum of 2 days in advance – we need to ensure we have enough team members to look after your beloved pooch, so please book from the Homepage on this website!
Do you accept all Dogs?
Our business is aimed at smaller dogs.
We accept most breeds at our discretion providing they are under 42cm in height.
What Vaccinations are Required?
All dogs must be fully vaccinated before coming into the centre:
- Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo (DHP)
- Canine Cough
What are the Drop-off Hours?
Daycare: Drop-off and pick-ups are in the morning (7:00 – 9:30 am), midday (12:00 – 1:30pm) and afternoon (3:00 – 5:30 pm). We have a taxi service available (at an additional cost) for pick-ups/drop offs – this is dependent on numbers (7:00 – 8:00 am, 12:00 – 1.00 pm, 4:00 – 5:00 pm).
Boarding: Drop-off and pick-ups are in the morning (7:00 – 9:30am), afternoon (3:00 – 5:30pm). Please note we do not offer our taxi service for boarding or the weekend.
New Clients to Daycare/Boarding?
We offer all new first-time clients a 25% discount for their dog’s first daycare visit.
It is strongly recommended for dogs who like to board with us to book in a daycare visit prior to their boarding stay to ensure ease of settling in.
Does my dog need to be de-sexed before coming to Four Small Paws?
Yes, we don’t take intact or unneutered dogs. Puppies are exceptions – please contact us to confirm.
Can I bring my dog in if she is in Heat?
Unfortunately, no. She will set off all the males and we like our guests to all play nicely. We’ll accept her 5 days after she has come off heat.
Are dogs exercised during their stay?
Most certainly! Your pup will have the full FSP daycare experience during their stay. This will include enrichment games, group activities, walks and one-on-one interaction with our team. We aim to create as much of a home-like-environment as possible. The pups are most definitely ready for bed at the end of the day feeling content and settled.
Where will my puppy be staying?
Our Boarding Facility is located at our Doggy Daycare Centre (7 George Daniels Drive, Trentham, Upper Hutt).
What are the sleeping arrangements at Boarding?
Your puppy will be sleeping in a crate, inside our Doggy Daycare Centre. We have orthopaedic mattresses with fluffy blankets to ensure their comfort. The Four Small Paws building is air-conditioned and monitored by a High-level Security System.
Who is watching over my dog at night?
To ensure our guests settle at night, we monitor our dogs using 24/7 high level security systems with access to our Centre within minutes should the need arise.
Can I view the Boarding Facilities?
Absolutely! We are very proud of our Centre and actively encourage ‘viewings’ for potential clients. We do ask you to contact us by phone to arrange a suitable time as we can be very busy during daycare hours.
