Do I need to Book for Daycare?
A minimum of 2 days in advance is preferred, however we do accept late & same day bookings. Bookings are made via PetManager through our Homepage on this website.
Do you accept all Dogs?
Our business specialises in small to medium sized dogs only.
We accept most breeds (at our discretion), with an average maximum height of 45-50cm and weight average maximum of 15-18kg.
What Vaccinations are Required?
All dogs are to be fully vaccinated before coming into Four Small Paws
The following vaccinations are required. Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo (DHP), Canine Cough
New Clients to Daycare/Boarding?
Does my dog need to be de-sexed before coming to Four Small Paws?
Yes, all dogs are required to be desexed by 12months of age. Males it is preferred to be by 10 months.
Can I bring my dog in if she is ‘in heat’?
No. During the heat period, she has heightened hormone levels and pheromones, which can cause behavioural disturbances amongst the other dogs.
Are dogs exercised during their stay?
Yes! Your dog will have the full FSP daycare experience during their stay. This will include enrichment games, group activities, one-on-one interaction, we aim to create as much of a home-like-environment as possible.
Where will my dog be staying during boarding?
Our Boarding Facility is located onsite at Four Small Paws (7 George Daniels Drive, Trentham, Upper Hutt).
What are the sleeping arrangements at Boarding?
Your dog will be sleeping in a crate (medium, large or xlarge sizes).
We have orthopaedic mattresses with fluffy blankets to ensure their comfort. The Four Small Paws building is air-conditioned and monitored by a High-level Security System.
Who is watching over my dog at night?
To ensure our guests settle at night, we monitor our dogs using 24/7 high level security systems with access to our Centre within minutes should the need arise.
Can I view the Boarding Facilities?
Absolutely! We are very proud of our facility and encourage ‘viewings’ for potential clients. We do ask you to contact us by phone to arrange a suitable time as we can be very busy during daycare hours.
