Welcome to Four Small Paws Dog Daycare and Boarding Centre, where your Small Breed Dog will make new friends, learn and play – every day!

Based in Central Upper Hutt, Four Small Paws provides a fun and safe environment to give your Small Breed Dog play time and socialisation with other dogs that match their size.

At Four Small Paws we offer a large, bright play area with comfortable seats and beds to provide a home-like atmosphere. We believe that not only do dogs need play and companionship every day, they also need structure. Every day we have play times, rest times and training times. Your Small Breed Dog will enjoy this stimulating and caring environment.

At Four Small Paws your Small Breed Dog will quickly feel ‘at home’. They will make new friends and enjoy their time here. After your time at work you will be greeted by a happy, tired, well-loved dog who is ready to go home with you.

Kia ora Four Small Paws whānau!

Great to see you on our website! Feel free to click and look around – below are some key messages that we like to inform and/or kindly remind you of:

  • Placing your beloved dog means you agree to our Daycare/Boarding Agreement – this is available through our Pet Manager booking tool, and will be sent out with every booking confirmation. Please make sure you read this and let us know if you have any questions.
  • For your dog’s safety, we strongly encourage you to always use a lead when bringing your dog into our centre as well as picking them up. We really want to avoid any ‘near misses’ with the road getting busier and busier!
  • Dogs will have to have their own collars/leads/harness with them.
  • If your dog is sick, please do not let them attend daycare. If they have tummy issues, they cannot attend for 48 hours prior or after.
  • To make sure we have appropriate dog-staff ratios at all times, we request that you please:
    • adhere to session times for drop-offs and pickups mentioned before / above (unless otherwise arranged).
    • adhere to booking times where possible i.e when your booking is for a 4.30pm pickup, please keep to this time instead of arriving at 5.30pm. Do let us know if pickup time is delayed at least 24 hours in advance to avoid late pickup fees.
    • book your dog(s) in 2 days in advance – please call us for urgent bookings as these need to be confirmed after making sure we have enough staff members to look after your dogs.
  • When booking transport, please do this under the “extras” tab. Our Transport times are:
    • Pick up 7-8.30am in the morning.
    • Drop off 12-1.00pm noon.
    • Drop off 4-5pm in the afternoon (depending on numbers).
  • A few final points:
    • Tokens are no longer available for purchase.
    • Customer donations; If anybody has spare blankets, towels, socks (long), old rope, we are always on the lookout for these things.
    • Please have one person per dog in our centre due to our cosy space at reception.
    • For our team, customer and especially dog safety, we kindly ask you not to go through to the main area (unless invited).

Director Four Small Paws

Sue Cox

I’m really happy that I found Four Small Paws for Milli to have the chance to make new friends and learn more games. Also how to behave in a pack. She’s learned a lot. She is a lot more chilled at home too. It’s good for both of us!
Milli is always happy to go to Kindy, lol and comes home happy and tired.
The staff obviously enjoy their job and take good care of the dogs. I can leave her there knowing she will be safe. That’s important to me.

Wendymae Laird

Maia was shy at first, but has settled in with the other dogs and has made friends. This business is flexible and handles changes with ease. I loved the farm day for dogs! I enjoy seeing the photos and videos of the dogs on Facebook while I’m at work.

Lisa Vine

Buddy loved his first session and came back home happy and tired. We even got a report and notes about how he went at doggy daycare! Thanks for taking such good care of him.

Griffon

Amazing boarding and daycare. Our three griffons have an amazing time and were looked after as their own babies.

Oli

Oli was very excited for his first day of daycare and he has come home beautifully brushed and exhausted – despite having spent a very relaxing day by the sound of things! From a personal point of view I love the secure set-up, the easy parking and the proximity to the railway station as well as the efficient processes around check-in/out and payments. But most of all I love the obvious attention and care he received. Looking forward to his next visit!
